The Airfield Industrial Estate will soon be home to a new occupier after Central England Co-operative agreed a letting of Unit 6 Blenheim Road. The property was the former Peak Leisure Vehicles showroom and has now been entirely let and will provide a Co-op food store along with two other ancillary retail/commercial units.
The deal was orchestrated by Graham Bancroft, Partner at BB&J Commercial who said “The property is situated in such a prominent location on the way into Ashbourne that it was a crying out to be occupied, in fact we were dealing with enquiries for the property before we had even been instructed!.”
“The letting to Central England Co-operative for use as a food store will help service both the people of Ashbourne and also commuters. The opening of the store will also be great news to the occupiers of the Airfield Industrial Estate as there are very few amenities on the estate at present.”
“We were extremely pleased to have achieved such a high profile blue chip tenant for our client and due to the location of the property we had interest from various blue chip national occupiers which shows the popularity of both Ashbourne and the Airfield Industrial Estate.”
The new Co-op store is set to create around 25 new jobs and fit-out work has already started to take place with the property hoping to be open to the public in September.
