BB&J ‘Crown’ 2018 A Success For Investment Sales

In the final weeks of 2018 BB&J Commercial rounded off a successful year of investment disposals by concluding the sale of Lymn House, Crown Square, Matlock to a local investor for £220,000 which represents a net initial yield of 8.23% after purchasers’ costs.

Situated in the heart of Matlock’s town centre the property was let to regional charity organisation Valley CIDS who have operated their Lighthouse Charity store from this address since 2010.

From the outset it was clear that the market appetite for such an investment was fairly strong and therefore, once the property was market tested interest levels were high and ultimately ‘Best and Final Bids’ were invited.

Chris Keogh, Senior Surveyor at BB&J commented ‘We finish 2018 pretty much as we started with a flurry of sales and lettings. Despite the economic uncertainty surrounding Brexit, over the past 12 months we have had great success with our investment disposals.

Lymn House was always a strong draw given its town centre location and despite a fairly short unexpired term on the lease we had good levels of interest in this property’
