Knights Solicitors LLP are a professional services firm who now have four regional locations; Staffordshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire and Gloucestershire. In October 2015 Knights were named as one of the UK’s leading professional law firms according to the “Lawyer UK 200”. Knights were one of the first in the legal sector to secure private investment and embrace the Alternative Business Structure (ABS) revolution, moving away from a traditional Equity Partnership model. Company CEO David Beech said “to be named as the second fastest growing firm is down to investing in our team and an ongoing recruitment drive to secure the most talented experts in our regions”. As part of this growth Knights plan to build a 30 strong professional team in Derby over the next 12 months.
Chris Wright of BB&J Commercial who agreed the deal commented “26 Orient Way was constructed by Melbourne Developments who have been building offices on Pride Park for over 15 years. The building is somewhat of a milestone for the developer as it was their last project on what was once a 15 acre development site. Having successfully constructed almost half a million square foot of commercial accommodation on Pride Park, the developer wished to create a striking premises that made the most of the plots frontage and prominent position on Orient Way.
As marketing Agents we have received good interest in the premises however the developer considered the premises as “the jewel in the crown” and only sought the most desirable covenant. On initially speaking with Knights their professional quality and vision for Derby was clear – we felt that they would be a good match for the premises. “
