Mark Richardson, Partner at BB&J Commercial, took up the challenge of cycling across Britain for children’s charity, Safe & Sound.
A 150-mile cycle was completed all the way from Seascale on the West Coast, through the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Vale of York, and North Yorkshire Moors to Whitby on the East Coast.
With over 10 ½ hours of moving time and 4500m of climbing, Mark raised over £1,000 for the charity.
Mark Richardson said, “I am very pleased to have raised funds for Safe and Sound. I would like to plan another one next year to raise awareness of their great work as well as some more fundraisers throughout the year too. It’s really important to me that we not only raise awareness of child exploitation, but also the importance of generating the vital funds required to keep operations running.”
“I definitely felt tired afterwards, but generally I was OK. Cycling in the Peak District is great training for any hilly ride, and I am very pleased to have faced this tough challenge while raising funds for Safe and Sound.”
Tracy Harrison, CEO of Safe & Sound added, “we are very grateful to Mark for his commitment to the charity both with his business hat and cycling helmet on!”
“We depend greatly on the generosity of individuals, organisations and businesses to raise money for our work so that we can keep pace with the rising demand for our help and support across the city and county due to the increase in online and in-person child exploitation.”
