On Saturday 28 August 2021, BB&J Commercial’s Mark Richardson went to the Derbion shopping centre to support Safe and Sound’s record attempt of having “the largest display of paper butterfly replicas”. The charity aimed to display 1,000 butterflies in the popular Derby shopping area.
Safe and Sound organised the world record attempt to raise awareness and funds for their Butterfly Appeal, which aims to respond to the increasing demand for specialist psychological therapy programmes.
According to the charity, just over 1,000 printed butterflies were printed and displayed at the Derbion Centre, and have raised over £3,600 so far. The current world record stands at 720 butterflies, and Safe and Sound has provided written and visual evidence to Guinness World Records in the hope of joining thousands of other successfully recognised individuals.
Mark Richardson, Partner at BB&J Commercial attended the event and said “there was a great turn out this weekend, and it was even more exciting to find out that they beat the current standing numbers. As a local Derby business and Trustee Member, I was very keen to make sure BB&J Commercial was involved with this awareness campaign, to encourage other businesses to engage and raise awareness for local charities, as well as help to raise as much money as possible for a beneficial cause.”
“We are looking forward to seeing the results of Safe and Sounds world record attempt and wish them the very best.”
