Out with the old and in with the new!

In the final throes of 2017 our agency activity saw a flurry of completion’s occur together with a healthy influx of new instructions to start the new year.

At the beginning of December Chris Keogh successfully let c.2,250sq.ft of refurbished first floor office space at Chatsworth House, Raynesway.  This letting saw accountancy firm, RDG Accountancy Limited, relocate from their former offices in Castle Donington.  Additionally, in the same month we also agreed a letting of approximately 1,900sq.ft of hybrid space on Pride Park, a location where BB&J Commercial have had unrivaled success in recent years, with Linx Logistics Limited taking occupation of a unit on Victoria Way on behalf of Ivygrove Developments.

In terms of freehold activity, a sale was concluded of 34/34a Drewry Lane in December and will soon be occupied by local company Ascot Fencing.  The strong finish to the year was met with an equally strong start to 2018 with the disposals of the partially let retail, office and leisure property, formerly occupied by Ripley Glass on Park Road, Ripley for a figure of £250,000 and also the sale of a 0.77 acre residential development site at Loscoe Denby Lane, Heanor to local developers Radbourne Construction.

Whilst it is always great to get deals completed for clients it is also vitally important to replace these properties; ‘out with the old, in with the new’ and in December we managed to replenish stock with new instructions including the freehold disposals of the former Holts Cycles premises on Nightingale Road and the ex-Stoneworks premises at Brailsford.  Both of these properties have been subject to a hive of interest with the latter currently under offer after a very short marketing period.  Furthermore, at the start of January we commenced with the marketing of over 8,000sq.ft of refurbished industrial space at Unit 2 Nelson Court and we hope to continue our positive start to the year after good levels of interest following the first week of marketing.
