BB&J Commercial are partnering up with Derby charities Safe & Sound, Children First, Friends of the Baby Unit and Padley Group to give toys and essential items for families in need this Christmas.
The local commercial property firm have created the ultimate wish list which consists of toys and gifts, food, cleaning supplies and other essential items to help families in need who have been adversely affected by COVID-19 or various circumstances that may put the individuals at risk.
4.3 million children live in poverty in the UK and since the COVID-19 pandemic, this has pushed many families even more over the edge. With poverty figures set to rise this Christmas, BB&J Commercial want to act and ensure that as many families as possible in Derby have a healthy and happy Christmas.
BB&J Partner Mark Richardson explained “these local charities are close to our hearts and deal with crucial issues facing many of the most vulnerable in our society including child exploitation, homelessness and poverty. These issues can be all the more emotive and pronounced at Christmas. It would be wonderful if the business community can work together to support their causes, not just at Christmas but throughout the whole year”
A collections tree will be set up at the BB&J Commercial offices, where local businesses and the public can donate various items including food, toiletries, household items, baby supplies, clothing items, toys, and gifts. Final donations will be collected on the 16 December 2021.
Graham Bancroft, Partner at BB&J Commercial said “This year more than ever it is important to think about and help those less fortunate and in need of help. Therefore we’d encourage everyone to donate whatever they can, no matter how little and we will get these items to these great charities and help make somebody’s Christmas”.
