Derby County Communities Trust has a new Head Quarters on Pride Park after agreeing a major new deal with BB&J Commercial to move into a stunning 5,215 sq ft office.
The two-storey building, located at 14 Pride Point, is the perfect location for the growing communities arm of Derby County FC which is dedicated to serving the community and supporting local projects and charities as part of the Football Club’s long-term commitment to the city.
The deal was agreed earlier this month and is the second that BB&J Commercial have completed with Derby County FC this year. Although the full terms are undisclosed, BB&J confirm that they achieved in the region of the asking rent.
Chris Wright, of BB&J Commercial, commented: “As a major employer and occupier within the city, we’re thrilled to have now completed two deals with Derby County FC in the past 6 months. We have been able to quickly and successfully match the specific requirements of the football club on both occasions and, with this latest deal, accommodating the Trust so close to the stadium was particularly important.”
BB&J Commercial acted on behalf of their client Derby-based business man Bally Shanker who owns the prestigious office building. He said: “Initially I used a couple of different agents for 14 Pride Point but they struggled to generate much interest. When I changed agents BB&J were very eager and a breath of fresh air and most importantly I felt they were honest and to the point. It didn’t take very long to create a fair number of leads to follow and Chris has done a smashing job – next time we will use BB&J from the start.”
In the short time since the deal the Communities Trust team have begun the move into their new head office.
Head of Communities Simon Carnall commented: “We have over 40 full-time staff now and as a result we were outgrowing our existing space at the stadium. We wanted somewhere within the immediate vicinity but with the configuration to suit our expanding business and support the activities we are undertaking with the community including classroom space and facilities. The new office means we are able to meet our strategic targets and deliver our programme of activity to help our partners achieve their goals and boost the work the Club undertakes throughout the city.”
