The Morris Minor Owners Club (MMOC) is on the move, having purchased attractive new 2,357 q ft (220 sq m) premises which will allow the club to continue to grow as well as enhance the services it offers.
The MMOC has been headquartered in Derby since 1990. The club was founded in 1976 and is this year celebrating its 40th anniversary. With 10500 members worldwide across five continents, the club is dedicated to the preservation and use of this iconic vehicle.
Over recent years interest in the Morris Minor has continued to increase. The executive committee who oversee the running of the club were keen to find new premises to accommodate expansion close to their Derby home. Therefore, when BB&J Commercial began marketing new high-specification light industrial premises on the outskirts of the city centre, the deal was swiftly made.
The Shaftesbury Street South Industrial Park is home to a number of established businesses and its location makes it easily accessible for the club’s members, partners and suppliers. BB&J Commercial managed the deal which took place after just one month on the market, and achieved in the region of the asking price of £175,000.
Ray Newell from the Morris Minor Owners Club said: “The deal has been so smooth and we’re thrilled with our new home. Phase 1 of our move will take place in the next few weeks when we hope to feel the benefit of the new premises with better configured work areas and much greater space for our specialty products and spares storage. We have new members joining all the time and so it’s great to be able to improve the club’s services.”
